Inanunsiyo na ang unang apat na pelikulang opisyal na kalahok sa Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2026.
THE GREATEST SHOWDOWN
Pinangungunahan ito ng pinakaabangang pagsasama ng Comedy Icons na sina Vic Sotto at Vice Ganda, ang The Gretaest Showdown.
Present pareho sina Vic at Vice sa 52nd MMFF Kickoff and Announcement of the First Batch of Official Film Entries na ginanap sa GH Mall nitong Martes ng hapon, Hulyo 7, 2026.
Ang The Greatest Showdown ay ididirek ni Jun Robles Lana. Magkatuwang itong ipoprodyus ng ABS-CBN Productions, Star Cinema, IdeaFirst Company, MZET Productions, at APT Entertainment.

AMIR
Pasok din sa MMFF 2026 ang fantasy-drama na Amir.
Entry ito ng GMA Pictures, GMA Public Affairs, at Brightburn Entertainment
Tampok dito sina Dennis Trillo, Will Ashley, Glaiza de Castro, at ang child star na si Argus Aspiras.
Ang Amir ay mula sa direksiyon ni Zig Dulay at panulat nina National Artist Ricky Lee at Anj Atienza — ang parehong team na lumikha ng MMFF 2024 Best Picture na Green Bones.
2ND MIRACLE IN CELL NO. 7
Napili rin bilang official entry ang drama na 2nd Miracle in Cell No. 7, ang prequel ng MMFF 2019 entry na Miracle in Cell No. 7.
Tampok dito muli si Aga Muhlach.
Ididirek ito Nuel Crisostomo Naval, at mula sa panulat ni Mel Mendoza-Del Rosario.
HAUNTED CARNIVAL
Horror naman ang tema ng Haunted Carnival, na entry ng Regal Entertainment.
Tampok dito sina John Arcilla, Julia Barretto, James Reid, Fyang Smith, RK Bagatsing, Ronnie Alonte, at Maricel Soriano.
Mula ito sa direksiyon ni Joey de Guzman; at isinulat nila Alan Tijamo at John Paul E. Abellera.
Ang natitirang apat na official entries para sa MMFF 2026 ay pipiliin mula sa isinumiteng finished films.
Iaanunsiyo ang mga napiling entries sa Oktubre.
Ang host cities ng MMFF 2026 ay Mandaluyong, San Juan, at Bacolod.
