For Ronnie Liang, performing for Filipino communities in Canada has been a deeply meaningful experience, allowing him to share OPM with kababayans living abroad.
The singer recently appeared at Taste of the Philippines 2026 in Calgary on August 1, and Niagara Fiesta Extravaganza 2026 on August 2. He is also set to perform at Brampton Fiesta Extravaganza 2026 on August 9.
In a press interview, Ronnie said he felt honored to perform before the Filipino community in Canada and witness how music brought people together.
Ronnie said: “The August 1, 2026 and August 2, 2026 shows were both enjoyable and fulfilling. Singing in front of the Filipino community in Canada moved me deeply because the power of music has always been to bring people together.
"From mothers to kids, everyone was enjoying the songs. Everybody was connected. Everybody was singing along. I felt honored to be chosen as a performer."
The singer said he particularly enjoys performing overseas because it allows him to bring a piece of home to Filipinos living in other countries.
He shared, “You know, I'm always thrilled to receive an invitation to perform overseas where Filipinos are present.
"As a performer, I believe it is your responsibility to use your music, passion, and spirit to make the audience feel as though they are in the Philippines.”
Ronnie also expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome he received from fans in Canada, describing his interactions with them as one of the highlights of the trip.
"Of course, the Filipino community has always been welcoming and supportive of Pinoy artists.
"My interaction with them was memorable, as they treated me well and showered me with hugs.
"The song 'Ngiti' was perfect for serenading our hardworking kababayans.”
Asked about his approach to live performances, Ronnie stressed the importance of sincerity and audience engagement.
“I ensured that my energy was at its peak. And I've always been sincere in my performances.
"During the shows, I enjoyed engaging with the audience.
"Aside from delivering the vocals, you must entertain them because they have invested time and energy in you. As artists, we must give our all.”
Aside from performing abroad, Ronnie continues to release new music. He recently unveiled the tracks “Bayan Ko” and “Kailan Ako Bibitaw.”
PINOY DREAM ACADEMY SEASON 1 REUNION
Ronnie also gave an update on the upcoming Pinoy Dream Academy Season 1 reunion concert, where he is serving as one of the co-producers.
According to him, the alumni are actively preparing for what will be their first major concert together in two decades.
“This is our first big show together in 20 years, and everyone is working together to ensure that the upcoming concert is a success. We are currently selecting songs that will reflect our journey.”
Looking back on their shared experience in the reality talent competition, Ronnie said the bond among the contestants has remained intact despite taking different career paths.
“Our careers have taken different paths, but our care for one another has always existed. Pinoy Dream Academy taught us how to dream big and form lasting bonds, and we continue to apply those lessons today.”
The Pinoy Dream Academy Alumni Homecoming is set for September 19, 2026, at the Music Museum, with Ronnie hoping the concert will encourage aspiring artists to pursue their dreams.
