Saad ni Regine: "I'm surprised. I'm actually surprised because, normally, hindi ka na kilala, e.

"And that's okay because ang laki na nung age gap, e. But I'm very happy.

"I'm very honored, flattered, and humbled that they still know me.

"So it's a blessing. It really is."

REGINE VELASQUEZ AS A GAY ICON

Bukod pa rito, labis ding hinahangaan ng LGBTQIA+ community si Regine at itinuturing bilang isang gay icon.

Ano ang masasabi niya?

Saad niya: "I'm very happy and I'm honored being considered as a gay icon."

"I don't understand! I truly don't understand.

"When I was younger, I've always thought, 'Why?'

"But I'm very honored. Truly, I am. Thank you very much."

"Oo, kasi parang pambakla, e, 'no? Oo.

Seyoso niyang dagdag: "Siguro, it's... my songs are so gay.

"A lot of my songs are so gay because it's always... it's they're love songs.

"Most of them are heartbreaking songs. E, alam mo yung mga bakla, they're so dramatic. So they relate to a lot of my songs.

"But like I said, it's always an honor to be considered as a gay icon.

"So, thank you so much."

Dagdag niya: "The song, definitely. Pero yung lumipad, bakla, hindi na. Hindi na talaga kaya.

"You know, when I did that during 2000, hindi pa yan masyadong uso.

"As a matter of fact, when I did that, ka-cheap-an. Ang laki-laki nung bakal na ginamit. Ang laki.

"I even... I think I bruised my ribs. I did.

"And I had to endure it for at least two years. I bruised it.

"'Cause it would... it was hurting for at least two years. Kasi yung... ano ba yung tawag dun sa yung..."

Sabi ng media, "The harness?"

Dagdag niya, "The clamp that they had to use was this big.

"And every time I had to fly, it would dig into my rib. Kasi siyempre pag pinu-pull-up ka, it would go like that.

"E, I had to rehearse it several times. And every time I had to fly like that, it would dig into my rib.

"E, kumakanta ako. So in my head, 'Gusto ko to, di ba?'

"So, tiis-ganda yun. That's two nights. So for two years, I had to...

"Every time I take a deep breath, it would hurt me for a good two years.

"And I really believe it bruised my ribs for a good two years."
