Former Miss Q&A champion Anne Patricia Lorenzo Diaz admits that she feels disheartened whenever she sees viral videos showing members of the LGBTQIA+ community involved in physical altercations.

In recent weeks, several videos featuring members of the community engaging in street brawls have circulated online.

One of the most talked-about clips showed a group of transgender women involved in a fistfight outside a popular coffee chain in the Philippines.

Details about when and where the incident took place remain unclear, and the video appears to have already been removed from social media.

In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Anne shares that the video also appeared on her social media feed.

However, she believes people should avoid making immediate judgments based on a single video clip.

The interview with Anne took place during a sponsor visit at Beauty Project Aesthetic and Wellness Center and Dandy Glow in Mandaluyong City on July 27, 2026.

“Alam mo ano, when it comes to that matter, every time that I saw something like that online, hindi ako agad nagdya-judge ng tao,” she says.

Anne continues: “Because I don't know the main reason kung ano yung nangyari.

“Kasi yung ganun mang klaseng pangyayari, parang hindi siya laging, doon lang sa specific na gender.

“It can happen to any gender, for a straight man, straight women, or lesbian, or kung ano pa man, puwede yung mangyari yung mga ganun.”

ANNE PATRICIA LORENZO DIAZ: CHOOSE KINDNESS OVER VIOLENCE

While Anne refrains from judging those involved in such incidents, she hopes people would practice patience and choose dialogue over violence whenever conflicts arise.

She shares: “So for me lang, parang if there is an advice that I can give, lagi nating babaunin sa mga bag natin yung mahabang-mahabang pasensya natin...

“Kasi kung ano man yung mga conflicts and misunderstanding, lagi yun may paraan para mapag-usapan, 'no?

“So instead of choosing violence, let us always choose to be kind.

“So, pag-usapan lang then hingang malalim lang. Kunwari may mga bagay na hindi natin kayang pagtiisan, kung ano man yung misunderstanding, hingang malalim...

“Kasi lagi niyo tatandaan, hindi worth it yung mga aberyang pwedeng mangyari sa atin kapag... nagpadala tayo sa init ng ulo natin.”

ANNE PATRICIA LORENZO DIAZ: MISS Q&A RETURN & REINA FILIPINAS

Meanwhile, Anne expresses her happiness over the return of Miss Q&A on It's Showtime.

As the reigning Miss Q&A queen, Anne even took part in the segment's opening number for its latest season.

“Alam niyo, ako pa nga yung... nung nakaraan, parang ako yung nag-opening number parang para buksan yung new season ng Miss Q&A, because I am the reigning queen in Miss Q&A.

“At talagang lagi araw-araw, lalo na pag may time ako, kahit hindi ko siya mapanood nang live, binabalikan ko yung replay.

“Sobrang nag-e-enjoy ako. Sabi ko nga, okay, iba-iba yung... iba yung way namin, yung first season, second season, and third season ng pagsagot and yung pagka-witty namin iba-iba. Pero iba rin to. Sobrang saya.”

Anne also credits It's Showtime host Vice Ganda for being one of the key reasons behind the pageant segment's continued success.

“And then siyempre, ang isa sa pinakanagbibigay ng buhay sa Miss Q&A is our Meme Vice. Without her, feeling ko hindi talaga magiging matagumpay at hindi ganun kasaya yung Miss Q&A.”

Beyond her television appearances, Anne is currently competing in the inaugural Reina Filipinas pageant, alongside pageant veterans and former titleholders Alexie Brooks and Angelica Lopez.

Anne previously represented the Philippines at Miss International Queen 2025 and is the only transgender woman competing in this year's Reina Filipinas.

She is grateful for the opportunity to represent trans women in the competition.

As for her strategy, Anne says she wants to focus on enjoying every moment of the journey rather than putting too much pressure on herself.

“Ako naman, in every competition, lagi akong happy at lagi kong pinipilit i-enjoy even... so tiring yung mga schedule...

“Kasi sabi ko nga, parang it's just one snap, you're waking up one morning, tapos na lahat.

“So I don't wanna have any regrets kasi gusto ko na-enjoy ko to. Nakabuo ako ng mga bagong sister, and also the learnings that I will get from this competition. So I'm very much okay, I'm very much happy.”
