Earlier this week, PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) reported that newlywed actress Joyce Jimenez got hurt in a vehicular accident.
In a text message received by PEP, the source said that the sexy actress was on her way home from the taping of TV5's Philippines Scariest Challenge in Baguio. She was with a driver, her road manager, and personal assistant when the accident happened in Urdaneta, Pangasinan last September 29.
This prompted her husband, Paul Ely Egbalic, to immediately go to the country and check on his wife.
From Pangasinan Sacred Heart Hospital, Joyce was transferred to Medical City in Pasig City. She was released last Wednesday, October 1.
In a taped interview with Entertainment Live aired yesterday, October 4, Joyce narrated what she remembered of the accident.
"May bus na gusto niyang i-overtake 'yong isang truck. So, he went into our lane, however, hindi naiwas naman. In time, when we hit a tree, we started to turn turtle pakanan and then we rolled, I think, four times. Ako 'yong pinakabugbog—bruises and I got three stitches."
Another angle that came out after the accident was that maybe a spirit was disturbed and went with them as they were returning to Manila.
With this experience, Joyce learned that when something like this happens, a person should make an apology to the spirits that were disturbed. Her advice was, "Kung na-disturb ko man kayo, na hindi dapat na multuhin kayo, pumunta kayo sa kanila na, ‘Pasensiya ka na, I didn't really mean it.'"
Two other mishaps were featured in Entertainment Live that involved Angel Locsin and Piolo Pascual during a taping and a photo-shoot for their upcoming movie with Star Cinema.
First, Angel accidentally hit her eye while riding a horse during their shooting in Bukidnon. "Kailangan kong patakbuhin nang mas mabilis 'yong kabayo. Pag-hit ko, na-hit ko 'yong mata ko, 'yong left eye," narrated Angel.
But this did not cause too much trouble on their shooting, Angel said. "Kinabukasan, nag-kabayo na ako ulit."
Piolo, on the other hand, fell off several times while riding a horse. "Just yesterday, e, I fell off already. The day before that, I fell off also. So, common na sa amin 'yon."
During one of these incidents, Piolo was surprised to see that his movie partner not frightened by the horse. In fact, he recalled, "Kanina, nakakatawa si Angel, she was wearing a white dress, she didn't get scared. Hindi siya tumakbo, siya pa 'yong umalalay doon sa horse."
Despite these accidents, Piolo and Angel are still excited about their first movie together. In fact, they are scheduled to go to Australia to tape some of the scenes in the movie.
"Mahirap na masaya, it's a different experience all together. We did a lot of different things. Kahit mahirap 'yong mga eksena, siguro enjoy pa rin," said Piolo.
