Dingdong Dantes, 46, couldn't help but feel mesmerized by wife Marian Rivera, 42, as she delivered her heavy dramatic scenes for Remember.

Produced by Star Cinema, APT Entertainment, AgostoDos, and Regal Entertainment, Remember marks the couple's reunion on the big screen following their record-breaking 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival entry, Rewind, which reportedly earned a worldwide box-office gross of PHP1 billion.

According to Dingdong, he and Marian didn't have to get motivation from real-life struggles to deliver their roles as Joseph and Ria.

"So, iba yung nai-imagine ko. Ganun kahusay yung portrayal niya bilang Ria."

Asked whether they used method acting to internalize their characters, the couple said it wasn't necessary for this project.

They believed the material was strong enough to bring to life the story of an estranged couple forced to reunite after learning that their daughter is suffering from a serious illness.

Dingdong said: "I will not say na madali, pero ibig ko lang sabihin, yung performance kasi ni Marian gave me more reason to step up as Joseph. 'Wow, ano 'to?' So, nagre-react lang ako the whole time.

Makaka-relate ka in so many levels, not just as a parent, but also ako as a son."

Hearing such praises from Dingdong, Marian remarked, "Yun yung unconditional love, di ba, sa asawa?"

She went on to say that it always takes a village to create a powerful scene in a film.

Dingdong and Marian shared these anecdotes during the media launch of Remember, held at Cinema 7 of Eastwood Mall in Quezon City, on Thursday night, October 22, 2026.

Also present at the event were the film's creative team, including director Mae Cruz-Alviar and writers Enrico Santos and Daisy Cayanan-Mejares.

THE STORY OF REMEMBER

Enrico revealed that conceptualizing the film took several meetings, as the team wanted to ensure that "sulit na sulit ang napapanood ng mga manonood."

Ria and Joseph cross paths again in Quebec, Canada, where they must confront their painful past and their daughter's illness.

Will the former couple rediscover their love for each other amid the challenges they face?

Enrico offered a glimpse of the circumstances that bring them together again.

DIREK MAE CRUZ-ALVIAR ON DONGYAN

Director Mae Cruz-Alviar shared that the first day of shooting for Remember took place in Quebec.

She initially wanted the cast to have a few days of shooting in Manila to ease into their roles, but their schedule did not allow it.

Despite the lack of a warm-up period, she was impressed by how quickly Dingdong and Marian immersed themselves in their characters.

"Walang warm-up warm-up.

"Sinasabi ko nga kay Marian ngayon na tuwing nakikita ko siya na all glammed up and her hair is long and she's dressed up, naninibago ako. Para siyang ibang tao.

"And even si Dong, kasi I've worked with him so many times. This is different from the other roles that he's played.

Making the project more special for Direk Mae is how she feels like everything has aligned for Remember.

Quebec, Canada was not the first choice for their on-location shoot, and it was serendipitous that the motto of the place happened to be "Je me souviens," which translates to "I remember."

Their playdate, November 11, happens to be Remembrance Day in Canada.

And these weren't planned for promo, she added.
