Kinumpirma ng singer-actress na si Carla Guevara Laforteza ang pagbabalik ng anak niyang si Sophia Laforteza sa popular international all-female singing group na KATSEYE.
Matatandaang inanunsiyo ni Sophia ang kanyang pagpapahinga mula sa KATSEYE noong August 2026, at ang ibinigay niyang rason ay mental health at recovery.
“She's coming back January [2027],” pagkumpirma ni Carla sa interview sa kanya ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal).
Nakausap ng PEP si Carla sa media conference ng Quezon Club sa Solaire Resort North sa Quezon City noong October 22, 2026.
Isa si Carla sa featured talented Filipino artists ng Quezon Club bilang performer.

CARLA DETAILS SOPHIA'S HIATUS
Nagbahagi ng mga detalye si Carla tungkol sa desisyon ni Sophia na magpahinga.
Nagkaroon kasi ng mga espekulasyon ukol sa “break” na ginawa ng dalaga, dahil nangyari ito kasunod ng pag-alis noon ng KATSEYE groupmate niyang si Manon Bannerman.
Pero paglilinaw ni Carla: “She just needed to rest her body and rest her mind… really do things to make her happy again… to bring her to that happy place again.
"And now, she's ready.”
Pinasalamatan ni Carla ang Eyecons, fandom ng KATSEYE, sa pag-unawa kay Sophia.
Nanawagan din si Carla sa lahat ng producers at employers.
Aniya: “You want 100 percent performance from your employees? Allow them to rest when they feel… that they're not performing their best.
“Ibig sabihin nun, parang kailangan niya magpahinga. I think we should be conscious about that in any industry.
“The only way we can do that is to be able to take care of each other.
“But you won't be able to take care of others if you don't take care of yourself first.”
Sundot ni Carla: “And that's what my daughter did.
"How can she perform well and make her fans happy and if she's not well?”
Naramdaman daw kasi ni Sophia ang pagod dahil sa pagiging sobrang busy ng schedule ng KATSEYE.
Kuwento ni Carla tungkol sa kanyang anak: “Even when she's on vacation, she's still working because hindi puwedeng mag-no ka sa mga fans pag nagpa-picture, pag pinagkaguluhan ka, di ba?
“So, it was really hard for her.
"So, it was a really good decision for her to just say, ‘Let's just have this hiatus, so at least I can just stop the work…”

CARLA ON THINGS THAT MAKE SOPHIA HAPPY
Ibinahagi rin ni Carla kung ano ang mga pinagkaabalahan ni Sophia habang nakabakasyon.
“She did everything that made her happy…
“She would cook, she would bake, she would paint, you know, hang out with her loved ones, went to her happy place… and, which is what we should be doing.”
Samantala, bilang resident artist ng Quezon Club, nagkuwento si Carla kung ano ang mga aasahan ng mga manonood.
“I have a duo with David Ezra. We do a lot of Sinatra, Natalie Cole, and Barbra Streisand, Peabo Bryson, all the classics, really. It's such a nostalgic show to watch.”
