After 39 trying days on Devil's Island, it all comes down to the final night of Survivor Philippines tonight, December 12, 2008.
After more than 40,000 hopefuls from all over the Philippines auditioned to become part of the first ever Survivor Philippines, 18 were chosen to become castaways in Koh Tarutao in Thailand.
Since the first episode aired last September 15, viewers witnessed how these men and women braved extreme hunger, cold and discomfort as they struggled to survive the elements and each other.
When they were divided into the Naak and Jarakay tribes, we saw how they built friendships with their allies and waged wars with their perceived enemies.
After grueling Immunity Challenges and heartbreaking Tribal Councils, the final 10 castaways finally merged into the Chalam Tribe and found themselves just a few steps away from the grand prize.
But it was also then that treachery and intrigue reached their height. The castaways revealed their true colors as they struggled to outwit one another. Lies were told and promises were broken. Old friends became the worst of enemies while former enemies became strong allies.
Finally, the last two castaways standing--JC Tiuseco and Rob Sy--will face the Jury composed of eight of the men and women they befriended, lied to, cheated, plotted and argued with at different points of the game, to defend their right to become the first Pinoy Sole Survivor.
The Jury, for their part, will grill JC and Rob about the strategies they employed to become the final two castaways. Everything Rob and JC will say will affect the each member of the Jury's final vote.
Survivor Philippines host Paolo Bediones will count the Jury's votes live, add those to the Boto ng Bayan (Philippine Vote) and proclaim the first Pinoy Sole Survivor and winner of the P3 million grand prize.
The Survivor Philippines Final Night airs tonight, December 12, after Lalola on GMA-7.
