A lot of people put a high priority on monogamy in a
relationship. However, there are rare instances when the couple agrees to have
an open relationship, allowing the participants to take other partners. Jerry
Gracio, the writer of the movie Santa Santita, interviewed three lovers
living under one roof and told Adolf Alix Jr. about this kind of set up.
This sparked Direk Adolf's interest and he proceeded to create a film that would tackle this complicated relationship. Last July 19, the world premiere of Imoral took place at the Cultural Center of the Philippines as one of the exhibition films of Cinemalaya 2008.
Imoral tackles the dynamics of the relationship of a husband with his wife and his lover-and they all live in one house. Tapped to play the roles of husband and wife are Paolo Paraiso and Katherine Luna. The lover of Paolo is portrayed by Arnold Reyes, a theater actor who has also appeared in other indie films such as Pisay and Adela.
Arnold informed PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) about his role in this movie, which will be screened at Robinsons Galleria IndieSine starting August 6, 2008. "Ako yung lover ni Paolo for six years.
By living with such an arrangement, the three lovers become the target of moralists.
In Imoral, viewers will be able to see Paolo portray
the bisexual taxi driver, Katherine as the former waitress who is now selling
beauty products for a living, and Arnold Reyes as an engineer. Edgar Allan
Guzman of The Studs is tapped to play a special role in the movie.
Imoral will be screened at
Robinsons Galleria IndieSine starting August 6, 2008.
