Actor and producer Jomari Yllana appeared on Showbiz Central's "Don't Lie to Me" segment earlier today, April 26, 2009, to answer some of the most controversial and private issues that has made him one of the most talked about celebrities today.
Jomari, who was sitting comfortably despite all the wires attached to him from the lie detector machine, looked composed as SC
host John "Sweet" Lapus gave him his first question. "Sinagot na ito ni Mark
Anthony Fernandez noon," began John, "at nag deny siya na sa tanong na
ito: Sa inyong mga Guwapings ikaw ba ang pinakapasaway?"
"No," Jomari calmly answered.
The Guwapings by the way is a young three-boy group composed
of Mark Anthony Fernandez, Eric Fructuoso, and Jomari Yllana. They had
a huge fan base in the early nineties and made a few films during their
stint.
As it turned out, Jomari was telling the truth and when asked who
was the rebel among the three, he laughed and said, "E, tinanong n'yo
But of course, during that time, they were just teenagers and for
Jomari, it was brotherhood. "Kaming tatlo kasi, parang one for all, all
for one. Pag may ginawa kami, or pag may gusto gawin ang isa, eh
sama-sama kami lagi. Kung kalokohan man yung gagawin naming, e, laging
magkasama."
Next question was about love. No, it wasn't about recent love issues
but of past ones. John Lapus surprised him by saying: "First love never
dies.
There was pause before Jomari answered the question with a "No."
However, it turned out as a lie and Sweet made his signature dance move,
much to Jomari's amusement. After the dance, Jomari joked, "Alam mo, ok
na din na nag lie ako." When asked to share his story, Jomari revealed
that he was the only boyfriend Priscilla ever had and Priscilla was
Jomari's first girlfriend.
So, who was the first girl that made Jomari cry?
Jomari smiled and said, "Ang tagal na nun!"
Third question for Jomari was an age old question connected to male
stars like him: "Ikaw ba ay nakatanggap na ng indecent proposal mula sa
isang bading?"
"No," Jomari immediately answered. However, the machine detected
something wrong and gave his answer as a lie. After John's dance
ganyan, e, nakakahiyang ibunyag...Pero normal talaga 'yan.
sector." Then he joked, "So, baka ma-guilty sila pag nanonood sila!"
Last question for Jomari was: "Totoo ba na iiwan mo na ang pag artista para maging full-time producer?"
Jomari soundly answered "No." Good news for Jomari's fans, the lie
detector machine agreed and gave his answer the truth and nothing but.
That said, how would Jomari handle acting and producing?
"Unang-una, my heart belongs to cinema and sa TV," said Jomari. "Malaki ang utang na loob ko sa industriyang ito at dito ako lumaki at
dito na din ako nagkaka-edad. Nag bibilang na nga ako ng oras at taon.
Kung bibilangin ko, dalawang dekada na ako in this business. It just so
happened na I have friends with me and mas masikip pa sa kapatid ang
turingan namin sa isa't-isa. And what, it all started with a bottle of
beer. We wanted to contribute to the entertainment industry and
eventually siguro, you never know lumaki pa. Pati industriya ng
pelikula at telebisyon ay matulungan namin in our own little way."
