Dimples Romana cried when she
At this early, Dimples Romana’s new TV show The Greatest Love already had an effect in her life as a child.
This started after they shot their first teaser, where her character Amanda was seen to be very mad at her Mama Gloria (Sylvia Sanchez). The daughter even said the hurtful words, “Sana nagkatotoo na lang yung sinabi mo sa akin, na mamatay ka na!”
Dimples shared during the September 1 media conference, “After being a part of The Greatest Love only for a few months, iba yung pakiramdam ko, kasi ang The Greatest Love para sa akin, greatest blessing, kasi very timely, e.
“Hindi ko nga alam kung mag-apply to everybody kasi sobrang busy nating mga tao bilang indibidwal, sometimes we forget that our family is just waiting for us pero wala tayong ginagawa para maiba yung sistema na yun."
Dimples then recalled the time when they shot the teaser which was a surprise for them.
“Biruan pa nga kami na, ‘uy meron daw ano [eksena],’ kasi pagdating naming parang storycon, nilahat sa isang araw. ’Meron daw tayong confrontation scene!’
“[Sabi namin,] ‘Naku, hindi naman siguro kasi di pa tayo nagwowork together lahat.
“Meron talaga, so nilabas yung script, nagulat kami kasi medyo mabigat ito. Feeling mo talaga, bigatin talaga and to be in that same table, there's so much pressure plus si Amanda pa ang nagda-drive ng eksena kasi siya yung galit.
“Tapos mga linya pa niya, ‘Akala ko, mamamatay ka na,' noong nabasa ko, sabi ko, serious ba ito?
“Kasi ang galing, e. But at the same time, it scares me in a good way, because it’s so affecting to me na sana ganoon din yung effect sa ibang tao.”
Apparently, the teaser really did affect Dimples that she was prompted to send a sweet text message to her mother.
She continued, “So after shooting that teaser, nagte-taping ako ng Ipaglaban Mo.
“My mama and I, we are close, but not that close because as you know, I also got married early so medyo may rift kaming kaunti pero nawala na yun.
“Pero hindi kami touchy-touchy, hindi kami I love you, may taboo kami.
“So habang nasa Ipaglaban Mo ako, wala akong ginagawa, napanood ko yung teaser namin.
“Ako na to, ha, artista na ako ng teleserye. Sabi ko, ‘Ay, mag I love you ako sa mama ko.’
“Minessage ko yung mama ko, nagtext ako sa kanya. Sabi ko, ‘Mama, I love you po, ingat today.”
At this point, Dimples became emotional.
“Diyos ko, reply niya sa akin, pagkatapos nun nag MMK ako! Nasa Ipaglaban Mo taping ako pero MMK yung feeling ko kasi sabi niya, ‘Anak, na wrong-send ka.'
“So parang sabi niya, na-wrong send ka, so parang feeling ko, my mama didn’t think I will text her I love you. So may mali ako doon, mali ko yun bilang anak.
“So isipin mo, kung ganoon yung effect sa akin bilang artista, sana ganoong klaseng impact ang makuha ng manunuod namin na it will affect them in a way na mamahalin nila lalo ang pamilya nila.
“Kasi alam niyo po, ang tagal ko na ring artista pero siguro sa mga panahong ito, parang iniisip ko yung mga trabahong ginagawa ko, sana ganito yung magiging produkto nila. I feel so honored.
“Tinext ko lang yung nanay ko, ‘Mama, para sa inyo yun.’
“Tapos after noon, grabeng bait ko sa nanay ko. Hindi naman ako nagsisi, ibang klaseng bait ko rin, nagluto ako. Everyday, I talk to her.”
AMANDA. In the teaser, viewers can see the hatred of Dimples’s character Amanda against her mother, which will be seen once The Greatest Love airs its pilot episode today, September 5.
Dimples said about her character, “Si Amanda kasi, I think the struggles of Amanda are so real kasi si Amanda ang kaugali ni Nanay Gloria, e.
“Di ba, usually po, kung sino ang kaugali ng ating mga magulang, yun po ang ka-clash natin?
“So I think yun. And meron akong mga pinagdaanan at mga sikreto ni Nanay Gloria na naapektuhan ako.
“Pagdating doon sa teaser na yun, medyo nagkalabasan na kami ng sama ng loob which somehow sums up the story of The Greatest Love.
“Minsan kasi di ba ang love and hate, grabe ang push and pull niyan, e.
“Kasi you cannot really hate a person as much if you don’t love them that much. So you have to love them so much para ma-hate mo sila ng ganon.
“So si Amanda po, mayroong na-reveal sa kanya na sikreto ni Nanay Gloria na hindi niya kinaya kasi sobrang pagmamahal niya sa nanay niya.
“So may slight disappointment, slight feeling of betrayal on her part.”
