Habang nasa celebration mode ang marami nating kababayan dahil sa pagkapanalo ng dalawang Pinoy films abroad, isama na rin sa selebrasyon na ito ang pagkapanalo ni Allen Dizon bilang Best Actor para sa pelikulang Iadya Mo Kami (Deliver Us). Personal niyang tinanggap ang trophy sa 13th Salento International Film Festival sa Tricase, Italy.
Ito ay kasunod ng tagumpay ng Ang Babaeng Humayo (Golden Lion Award) sa 2016 Venice International Film Festival at Pamilya Ordinaryo (Audience Prize Award) sa 13th Venice Days.
Naganap ang awards night ng Salento IFF noong September 10.
Ginagampanan ni Allen ang papel bilang si Father Greg, isang pari na sa kanyang pagbigay ng pangaral tungkol sa moralidad ay naligaw, natukso, umibig at nagkaroon ng anak sa isang babae.
Ito ay sa ilalim ng direksyon ni Mel Chionglo mula sa script ni Ricky Lee. Tampok rin dito sina Diana Zubiri, Ricky Davao at Eddie Garcia.
Ayon sa website ng SIFF: “The Salento International Film Festival Is a celebration of films and filmmakers, promotes international independent films, in recognition of the fact that movies are the most powerful form of cultural communication and link between cultures' and peoples'.
“Founded in 2004 by Luigi Campanile, the Salento International Film Festival emerged as a major cultural event and the top film festival in South Italy.
“Each year it introduces filmmakers worldwide to the Salento area's unique resources, while celebrating the history and future of the film industry with 4 days of world premieres, special events, seminars, feature films, short films, documentaries.
“For the past few years SIFF has organized and run a world tour, taking the festival to international destinations like Zurich, London, Hong Kong, New York, Santiago del Cile, Moscow and San Petersburg and presenting the 'Best of the Fest' event.
“This gives SIFF the opportunity to showcase some of the best movies presented at the Festival to an international public, in prestigious locations such as Italian Cultural Institutes in the world and Cinema theatres, increasing the visibility and appreciation of such works which struggle to find a distribution channel.”
Nakarating na rin ang pelikulang Iadya Mo Kami sa iba’t ibang international film festivals tulad ng 14th Pune International Film Festival in India; at sa 4th Silk Road International Film Festival in Dublin, Ireland kunsaan nanalo rin si Allen ng Best Actor award.
