Here are highlights of the comparative ratings of GMA-7, ABS-CBN and TV5 programs from September 3-9, 2016 in Urban Luzon.
There were new shows that premiered on Philippine TV during this given period.
Three of them were in GMA-7. The biggest one was Someone to Watch Over Me, a primetime drama that stars Tom Rodriguez, Lovi Poe and Max Collins. Tom plays a young man who develops early onset Alzheimer's Disease.
Someone to Watch Over Me's pilot episode on September 5 garnered a 17.3% AGB rating, defeating Born for You's 13.2% with a margin of 4.1%.
But the margins slowly diminished until Born for You was able to catch up on September 8, Thursday.

The two other Kapuso shows that were new premiered on September 3, Saturday.
The first was #Like, a competition for talented acts that have taken a viral presence online. It was hosted by Tom Rodriguez and young dancer Balang.
#Like's pilot episode rated 16.3%, defeating Ipaglaban Mo's 13.2%.
The second show was Superstar Duets, a singing and comedy competition that is hosted by Jennylyn Mercado. The pilot episode got a 18.3% rating, outperforming Pinoy Big Brother's 13.4%.
(September 3 also featured the finale of Kalyeserye on Eat Bulaga! On that day, GMA-7's long-running noontime show had a 20.4% rating, defeating It's Showtime's 15.1%.)
ABS-CBN, meanwhile, had a new afternoon drama called The Greatest Love, which features Sylvia Sanchez as a mother afflicted with Alzheimer's Disease. Its pilot episode on September 5 got 11.6%, lower than Sa Piling ni Nanay's 13.5%.
Let's talk about weekday primetime. Aside from Someone to Watch Over Me, GMA-7's other shows were also doing well against its Kapamilya rivals. For instance, the Koreanovela Descendants of the Sun continued to trump Till I Met You.
The ABS-CBN teleserye Till I Met You starring James Reid, Nadine Lustre and JC Santos experienced a decline in AGB ratings. In fact, its lowest TV rating reached 16% in Urban Luzon.

But not all Kapuso shows completely triumphed against ABS-CBN's counterparts. Encantadia, for one, occasionally lost to FPJ's Ang Probinsyano. The margins are almost always razor-thin though.
