Viewers of Ika-6 Na Utos have more time to see their favorite characters since the GMA-7 show will now air even during the weekend.
Starting this Saturday, April 1, GMA-7's top-rating daytime teleserye will now be aired six times a week.
In the teaser shown in the March 27 episode, the plug indicated that the Sunshine Dizon-starrer now airs from Monday to Saturday after Eat Bulaga.
Take note that the Saturday edition of Ika-6 Na Utos is not a recap or replay of previous episodes.
Ika-6 Na Utos on a Saturday fills in the vacated time slot of the six-week-old documentary show Case Solved. The program hosted by Dingdong Dantes aired its season-ender last March 25.
This is the first time that a teleserye will be aired six times a week after many years.
In the past, only reality shows and Asianovelas had Saturday episodes. Some of these were Meteor Garden and Pinoy Big Brother, both aired in ABS-CBN.
Way back in 2004, ABS-CBN tried this format when it aired the afternoon series Sarah: The Teen Princess starring Sarah Geronimo until Saturday. However, its Saturday episode was only aired once.
In 2006, GMA's defunct sister channel QTV did re-runs of past Kapuso teleseryes Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin (2001) and Habang Kapiling Ka (2002), which both starred Angelika dela Cruz. They used to air from Monday to Saturday.
ABS-CBN's Be Careful With My Heart (2012) also had Saturday editions. However, these were devoted to the rewind of past episodes.
In the current episodes of Ika-6 Na Utos, Rome (Gabby Concepcion) realized that he still loves his ex-wife Emma (Sunshine). However, he already proposed marriage to his mistress-turned-girlfriend Georgia (Ryza Cenon).
