When asked about his wish for the Philippines, now that a new President has been elected, Arnel Pineda answered, "We can only hope for the best, no? And sana it will be a better Philippines for everybody."

Journey frontman Arnel Pineda does not mind being compared to newcomer Jovit Baldovino. Jovit, the winner of the recently concluded Pilipinas Got Talent, is said to have the same singing style as the Pinoy international rock star.

"Hindi naman maiiwasan 'yan e. Pareho kami ng ginagawa. They have to support us both," Arnel told the entertainment press in a brief interview during the victory concert party for President Noynoy Aquino held last night, June 30, at the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City.

Arnel and Jovit performed a duet of Journey's "Faithfully" for the audience, who were more than happy to watch the two on stage singing together.

Arnel said he actually feels "honored" to be compared to 16-year-old Jovit, a former siomai vendor in Batangas.

"Walang insecurity," he said. "I'm just very very happy for him. It's great that he's able to express himself."

Arnel said Jovit's talent is "getting better and better every day."
