Marian Rivera gives her thumbs up to Liza Zoberano as the new Darna.
“Oo, okay naman. Ganda siya. Perfect para sa kanya,” commented Marian, who was the last actress who played the iconic superheroine in a GMA-7 teleserye in 2009.
Marian was interviewed by PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other members of the press at the launch of her latest endorsement, Snow Crystal White Tomato whitening product, at the New World Hotel in Makati, earlier today, July 27.
There is no playdate yet for this upcoming Star Cinema movie directed by Erik Matti.
The GMA-7 actress was initially reluctant to give a message to Liza since they have yet to meet.
However, she wished the ABS-CBN actress all the best.
“Good luck. Pero for sure naman, kahit sino’ng magsuot din niyan, e, siguradong susuportahan, especially kung siya.
“Parang majority naman yata, e, siya yung gusto.
“Saka maganda naman [siya]. Sexy. Kaya niya ‘yan.”
NEXT TELESERYE. Meanwhile, speaking of superheroes, Marian is now taping for her next Kapuso teleserye.
She will portray a new kind of superhero for the eponymous role in Super Ma’am.
“Natutuwa ako kasi pangarap kong maging teacher at dito sa soap, teacher ako,” she said about her role in the project previously known as The Good Teacher.
She added about the character, “Superhero ako, mapa-nanay man ako o nasa eskwelahan man, ako, e, magtatanggol ako ng mga inaapi.”
