The BEE mania continues.
Last Saturday and Sunday, the whole country joined host Cesar Montano and the rest of gang as The Singing Bee started airing on its new weekend slot. According to AGB Nielsen Media Research Philippines, the karaoke game show reached a total of 35.2 percent among NUTAM households in their September 2008 monthly report.
"We definitely raised the bar with this new and improved The Singing Bee as a way of thanking our Kapamilyas for making us the number one primetime game show," said Cesar.
The one-hour show not only gave more fun and thrills but also introduced three new rounds-"To bee corrected," "Singing with the enemy," and "Beedeoke"-which surely made you glued to your seats singing along and sharing the experience with the studio contestant right at your homes.
The Singing Bee has proven to be appealing not only among adult viewers, but also to young viewers as the show is nominated for the Favorite TV Show category of the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards Philippines 2008," said executive producer Carla Burwell. "The program has become a good venue for family bonding, and we are more than happy to hear Kapamilyas sharing their own stories of how they anticipate watching the show with their husbands/wives and kids."
Three contestants from the first season already took home the million. This includes studio player Steno Padilla and celebrity players Rachel Alejandro and Aiza Seguerra, who won the biggest accumulated amount of P2.08 million.
After Megan Young took home P50,000 and Jay Durias with P70,000 last week, celebrity players Cherry Pie Picache, Melanie Marquez, Manilyn Reynes, Bangs Garcia, Enchong Dee and Rafael Rosell battle it out for the million this Saturday, October 18, while Cogie Domingo, Jayson Gainza, DJ Durano, Kaye Abad, Giselle Sanchez, and Ina Raymundo sing their hearts out this Sunday, October 19.
