The comics-turned-TV series Gagambino delivers an
all-access backstage pass to viewers this Sunday, October 19, as it unveils how the program
has been created through its primer dubbed as Gagambino's Web.
Gagambino's Web is a 45-minute documentary on the making of GMA's newest telefantasya, Gagambino. It will be hosted by Dennis Trillo, who portrays the title role.
Created by master comics novelist Carlo J. Caparas, Gagambino is the superhero story of a young man named Bino and his adventures with his giant spider. Together, they fight evil forces in a darker, crime-infested re-imagination of Manila.
Bino and his group of friends, all possessing insect-like superpowers like him, are pitted against the terrorist mastermind called Abresia (Jean Garcia), a powerful woman who can command giant insects to her will and has the ability to turn her body into a swarm of flesh-eating locusts. Bino and his crew must pool their powers together to be able to stop Abresia and her designs of world domination.
Gagambino's Web serves as the viewers' backgrounder on GMA's latest primetime offering. We will see Dennis, and his alter ego, Bino, in a series of short sketches that become the takeoff point in discussing the various aspects of producing Gagambino, including the set and costume design, computer effects, as well as the rigorous training of the cast members led by Dennis himself.
Interspersed with the behind-the-scenes footage are insightful interviews with Dennis, his co-stars Katrina Halili, Polo Ravales, and Jean Garcia, and Gagambino's creative team, including directors Topel Lee and Don Michael Perez, head writer Suzette Doctolero, and the series creator, Carlo J. Caparas.
Gagambino's Web will be shown on October 19 after SOP. The primetime telecast of the series begins on October 20 after Codename: Asero.
