MYX airs VJ Search 2008 finale on October 23

Twelve completely different individuals are competing for the be called one of the winners in the upcoming MYX VJ Search 2008 Finals Night. It will be held tomorrow, October 21, 8 pm at the Activity Center of Trinoma in Quezon City.

MYX music channel has been known not only to present Filipino artists and their music videos but also is a great venue for talents to hone their hosting skills. MYX has been able to offer some of the industry's most talented VJs as reflected in their current roster of regular VJs Nikki Gil, Luis Manzano, and Iya Villania. Among the products of last year's MYX VJ Search are VJs Drei, Mica, Sanya and Igi.

This year has brought in 12 very talented and unique bunch of aspiring MYX VJs from varied industries and different walks of life. These include the afro-haired Ezra Lacsamana, charming Paolo Alino, basketball player Macky Escalona, ex-PBB teen housemate Robi Domingo, model JC Lingad, chinito cutie Chino Lui Pio, radio DJ Monica Yncierto, aspiring singer Cerah Hernandez, student Jessica Mendoza, funny gal Bianca Roque, funky celebrity-sister Kai Hocson and commercial model Sami Pinto.

At first glance, one can see that all of them have their own characters, strengths and quirkiness. But as time passes by, viewers see that these young, fresh talents are more than what meets the eye. They are all very good hosts in their own right, bringing in their natural aura, wit and charm that could liven up any event.

But don't think that it's just a walk in the park for these young blood. All of them had to go through a baptism of fire through a series of challenges, workshops and rehearsals, whether as a group, in pairs or individually, that would help them hone their hosting and VJ-ing skills. Most of the finalists share that their most challenging moment was during their stint at the Wildlife Eco Park where they had to get down and dirty to win in the competition, which also turned out to be their most memorable and funniest experience.

Though almost half of them didn't have any special preparations for the said auditions, that is besides looking at the mirror and mimicking their favorite VJs, one thing's for sure--all of them have the heart and the will to achieve their dreams of becoming the newest MYX VJs.

With the upcoming finals night only a few days away, these hopeful VJs are nervous at the same time ecstatic in anticipation of the outcome. These Vjs believe that whatever the result is during the finals night, win or lose, all of them have brought home something important--the priceless technical and practical lessons they have picked up and the friendships that have been built.


The Myx VJ Search will culminate on October 21, 8 pm at the Activity Center of Trinoma, where the new crop of Myx VJs will be announced. The event will be headlined by the Myx VJ Search 2008 finalists and performances by top local bands. Myx Presents: The Myx VJ Search 2008 finals night will be aired on Sky Cable Channel 23 this Thursday, October 23, at 9 pm.
