Yasmien Kurdi and Dion Ignacio are set to work again in a new drama series.
The two StarStruck Season 1 graduates attended the story conference of their new teleserye, Hiram na Anak, yesterday, January 8.
Also part of the new GMA-7 teleserye are Paolo Contis, Lauren Young, Maey Bautista, and child star Leanne Bautista.
This serves as a reunion for Yasmien and Dion, who became onscreen partners in the 2008 TV adaptation of the Maricel Soriano film, Saan Darating Ang Umaga?
Yasmien played the role of Maricel, while Dion portrayed the role of Raymond Lauchengco.
On Monday, January 7, Yasmien posted a throwback photo of her and Dion during their Saan Darating Ang Umaga? days.
She wrote in the caption, '"Morning Awaits" w/ @dion_ignacio #throwback 10 years ago. Hi to all from Shayne and Raul!"
Morning Awaits was the English title used for Saan Darating Ang Umaga? when it was aired internationally.
The project Hiram na Anak was first announced through an omnibus plug aired by GMA-7 during its New Year Countdown for 2019.
It serves as Yasmien's follow-up project after the success of her advocacy series, Hindi Ko Kayang Iwan Ka, aired in 2018.
The show is also Dion's comeback in doing lead roles. His last major role in a teleserye was in the 2016 afternoon series, Magkaibang Mundo, while his last TV project was the fantasy series, Victor Magtanggol.
Hiram na Anak will be directed by Gil Tejada Jr., who used to helm Yasmien's afternoon shows in the past such as Pati Ba Pintig ng Puso? (2007) and Sa Piling Ni Nanay (2016).
Yasmien, Dion, and Direk Gil also worked together in the prime-time series, Bakekang (2006).
More details about Hiram na Anak, including its airing date and timeslot, have yet to be announced.
