People thought that the taping of TV5's pilot episode You
and Me Against the World would be awkward since Gretchen Barretto would
come face-to-face with John Estrada, the man with whom she was involved in a
"kisscandal" in the past.
However, John narrated that the experience was quite
pleasant. "Wala na yun, tapos na yun at magkaibigan naman kami ni Gretchen. I
don't think maiimbita ako dun kung may problema kami and I don't think oo siya
kung may problema kami."
Did he feel nervous about being a celebrity contestant while Gretchen served as
the host?
"Siyempre...siyempre...hindi naman
nerbiyos pero parang tension na hindi ko alam kung anong mangyayari. Hindi ko
alam kung paano laruin yung game di ba...after the briefing then after nag hi,
hello kami ni Lucy, naging ok na."
In the pilot episode, which will air on TV5 on November 23, John plays with Shall
We Dance host Lucy Torres.
Who greeted whom first? "Ah, nagkita kami sa loob na ng studio e, so syempre ako...kasi host siya, e."
Did they kiss each other on the
cheek to greet one another? "Ah, oo naman."
When he was offered to guest on Gretchen's show, did he have second thoughts?
"Well, kinausap ko si Douglas [Quijano, his manager]...sabi ko okay lang kung wala talagang problema...kasi siyempre kailangan ipaalam sa partner niya [Tonyboy Cojuangco]. I think ok lang din kasi show lang naman ‘to. Naging safe ako nung nalaman kong alam ng partner niya."
TV5's newest game show You and Me Against the World will
air every Sunday starting November 23 at 7 p.m.
EVERYBODY HAPI. During the November 12 launch
of TV5 at A-Venue Events Hall in Makati City, John was one of the many
celebrities who were promoting their shows that will air soon on the said
channel. "Kasama ko sa sitcom na Everybody Hapi si Eugene Domingo,
Roxanne Guinoo, at Long Mejia. Ang kuwento nag-balik baranggay ako. For a long
Everybody Hapi is about two warring families living
in a duplex. The two sisters in the story (Roxanne and Eugene) are competing
against the men that they hate (and loved). The girls run a beauty parlor while
the men own a funeral parlor.
Watch the wacky cat-and-dog life of the duplex residents in this sitcom, which
also stars Matt Evans and Alex Gonzaga.
Everybody Hapi will premiere on TV5 next Sunday, November 23, at
6 p.m.
