Brandon Flowers, David Keuning, Mark Stoermer, and Ronnie Vannuci—collectively known as the Las Vegas-based rock band, The Killers—will perform here in Manila on January 31 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds in Pasay City.
The Killers are responsible for the modern rock hits like "Mr. Brightside," "Human," "Somebody Told Me," and "A White Demon Love Song," a track included in the soundtrack of the film New Moon.
The four-piece unit is said to be heavily influenced by groups such as The Beatles, Oasis, Queen, and U2, which perhaps explains why the band is often mistaken as a British band.
The group's overall sound likewise brings to mind the mood commonly experienced when listening to synth-driven and new wave bands like Joy Division, New Order, Duran Duran and The Cure.
Since its inception in 2002, the band has released four albums, so far: Hot Fuss (2004), Sam's Town (2006), the compilation and B-side record Sawdust (2007), and Day and Age (2008).
The Manila concert date is part of The Killers World Tour which started last year, taking the band across the globe from North America to Africa to the Middle East. The Killers Live in Manila is a Saga Events and Worldwide Womb Production.
"To play live is the best thing ever. Everything leading up to it is kind of a drag sometimes. But as long as we can play live and share that experience, that, for all of us, never gets old. I'm sure there'll come a point in our career where we'll be able take longer time off. But at the moment we just gotta keep on keepin' on. And the well's not dry yet," drummer Vannuci told fans in Scotland last Sunday, January 10, during an interview.
Tickets to The Killers Live in Manila are priced at P550 (Bronze), P1550 (Silver), P3950 (Gold) and P5550 (VIP).
LIVE RELEASE. To give fans a sneak peek of what to expect during the concert, MCA Music releases The Killers: Live from the Royal Albert Hall. Touted as the band's first official DVD release, the live disc contains the entire show plus behind-the-scenes footage, bonus festival performances and an exclusive live disc of the performance.
