GMA-7 announces retirement of Ms. Wilma Galvante and appointment of Ms. Lilybeth Rasonable

GMA Network Inc. has announced the retirement of SVP for Entertainment TV Wilma Galvante in a press statement sent to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) earlier today, February 28.

The Kapuso network also announced the appointment of VP for Drama Lilybeth Rasonable as officer-in-charge of the Entertainment group.

Ms. Galvante "officially retired" from the network after 19 years of service as Entertainment head.

Ms. Rasonable, on the other hand, "has been with the Network since 1998 and has served as Program Manager, Assistant Vice-President and Vice-President for Drama for the Entertainment Group."

Philippine broadcast media giant GMA Network, Inc. announced the retirement of senior vice president for the Entertainment Group Wilma V. Galvante and the appointment of vice president for drama Lilybeth G. Rasonable as officer-in-charge of the Group.


Rasonable has been with the Network since 1998 and has served as Program Manager, Assistant Vice-President and Vice-President for Drama for the Entertainment Group. Her latest position prior to the appointment has seen her supervising the group's afternoon and primetime dramas (soap operas), most of which were top-raters in their respective timeslots. As concurrent OIC of the Group, she will oversee the day-to-day operations of the entire Entertainment Group.

The announcement came about after Galvante officially retired from the Network, ending her 19 years of service as entertainment head. Galvante expressed her pride and gratitude "for the opportunity of having worked with [everyone in the network] through all the years." She also wished for the continued success of the network and added that GMA Network will always be in her prayers.


For his part, GMA chairman and chief executive officer Felipe L. Gozon, acknowledged Galvante's contributions to the success of its entertainment programs and thanked her for her loyalty and service to the network through the years.
