Broadcaster Angelo Castro Jr. is dead

According to reports, he succumbed to lung cancer earlier today, April 5.

Veteran broadcaster Angelo Castro, Jr. passed away earlier today, April 5, after a long battle with lung cancer.
Angelo Castro Jr., the man who became the news anchor of The World News Tonight for many years, is dead.
According to reports, the 67-year-old broadcaster died at the St. Luke's Medical Center earlier today, April 5, due to lung cancer.
Following is the statement sent by the head of ABS-CBN's communication department, Bong Osorio:
"ABS-CBN mourns the passing of veteran broadcast journalist Angelo Castro Jr, who has been an icon of Philippine broadcast news.
"ABS-CBN is thankful for his contributions to media and many years of service as its news anchor for The World Tonight.
"We enjoin the public in praying for the eternal repose of his soul."
Our condolences to his wife June Keithley, son Diego (former actor), and his other children.
