X-Men Origins: Wolverine will open on April 29

Hugh Jackman will topbill X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which is scheduled to open in Philippine cinemas by April 29, 2009.


The latest pulse-stopping trailer of X-Men Origins: Wolverine will be revealed on the big screen come March 25 when the movie 12 Rounds starring John Cena opens in theaters across the Philippines.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine final trailer sets the tone in the most anticipated spin-off starring Hugh Jackman as Wolverine wherein it takes the audience back in time to discover who this iconic mutant really is, what has shaped his personality and what lies behind the rage that threatens to overpower him. This is the fascinating origins story that unites Wolverine with other legendary mutants as they confront powerful forces determined to eliminate them. Often dark, at times humorous and always compelling, the film is dramatic and exciting, full of suspense and surprise as we discover how Logan/Wolverine gets those iron blades and why he is destined to live a life of torment. X-Men fans will be riveted by the story while new audiences will find it equally engrossing.

Directed by Gavin Hood, movie audiences will meet Team X, a covert military cadre comprised entirely of mutants. Its members are: Wolverine (Hugh Jackman); his brother Victor Creed aka Sabertooth (Liev Schreiber)—a feral being of unimaginable power; Wade Wilson, later to be known as Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds)—a high-tech mercenary skilled at swordplay; Agent Zero (Daniel Henney)—an expert tracker and lethal marksman; Wraith (will.i.am)—a teleporter; Fred J. Dukes aka The Blob (Kevin Durand)—a morbidly obese and super-strong behemoth; and Bradley (Dominic Monaghan) who can manipulate electricity with William Stryker (Danny Huston) as their leader whose origins and motives are now fully explored. Other key mutant players introduced in the trailer are Gambit (Taylor Kitsch), a young Scott Summers that would later be known as Cyclops and a beautiful young mutant named Emma Frost (Tahyna Tozzi).

Hugh Jackman who shares everyone's enthusiasm on the Wolverine movie has previously written over the net with this cheery note: "Hey everyone! X-Men Origins: Wolverine will open in Philippine cinemas nationwide on April 29, 2009 from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.
