Asia's first anime youth entertainment channel Animax becomes even more exciting with the addition of model-host Stephanie Henares and popular cosplayers Alodia and Ashley Gosiengfiao.
The three were chosen by the popular cable network to serve as brand ambassadors and will be known as "Ani-mates."
"I am absolutely thrilled to be chosen to represent the network!" said Stephanie during the media launch held recently at Conway's Bar of the Makati Shangri-La Hotel in Makati City.
"Basically, our role aside from hosting special segments will be providing the latest and hottest news concerning the youth not just here in the Philippines but across the region. We will also be covering events."
According to Animax Asia General Manager Gregory Ho, the network aims to bring together its youth audience regardless of distance and they intend to achieve that by making their programs interactive and even more dynamic.
Ho stressed that the amount of dedication being invested by anime fans is a prime example of fervent dedication often overlooked by casual observers.
"It's not really just parading in costumes," Ho emphasized. "But it's the effort, love and commitment they all put into it that amazes me. We want our brand to continuously cater to that excitement and passion."
Aside from introducing a new logo, the network also just recently launched a new Korean live-action programming hour on weeknight primetime. The new shows include music variety show titled Live Power Music every Monday, reality series Pretty Boys & Girls on Tuesdays while popular Korean drama series like My Girl, Princess Hours and Coffee Prince will liven up Wednesdays and Fridays. As an added innovation, Animax made a conscious decision to broadcast these shows dubbed in Filipino or in original Korean audio with English subtitles.
As for the Ani-mates and their contribution to the network's direction, Ho mentioned in a statement: "As companions to viewers on air, online and at on-ground events, they will add a more lively and human touch to Animax and connect across all fronts with our youth and young adult viewers in the Philippines and across Asia.
"This new initiative represents our continued efforts to make Animax an even more engaging and entertaining youth destination in the channel's evolution with the rapidly changing tastes and preferences of our dynamic audiences."
