Diether Ocampo will play a manunudsod (fisherman of shrimps) in the April 4 episode of ABS-CBN's drama anthology show Maalaala Mo Kaya.

Diether Ocampo is currently in Korea to shoot the Filipino version of the Koreanovela Only You along with Angel Locsin and Sam Milby.

But before Diet left the country, he was able to shoot an episode for Maalaala Mo Kaya that will serve as a great acting vehicle for the actor.

This Saturday, April 4, Diet will portray the role of Pio, a blind man who is a manunudsod (fisherman who catches prawns at night). Visually challenged since birth, he shows how tenacity and sheer determination proves to be the winning formula despite his handicap.

The fishermen of Donsol, Sorsogon use a "sudsod" which is made of two long bamboos with a big net in the middle. They push the sudsod in the water and lift it up to catch the shrimps. This practice is usually done at night or early dawn.

Mang Pio walks in the shallow parts of the ocean and blindly casts his sudsod in the water. By using his sensitive sense of touch, he knows if he was able to catch any shrimps.

Don't fail to watch this heartwarming and inspiring episode on ABS-CBN this Saturday after The Singing Bee.

Maalaala Mo Kaya is hosted by ABS-CBN President Charo Santos-Concio.
