GMA leads primetime TV ratings in Mega Manila during 1Q

GMA Network dominated competition in Mega Manila TV ratings based on data from AGB Nielsen Philippines.

In all days during the first quarter of 2009, GMA Network led competition in primetime TV ratings in Mega Manila. GMA Network posted an average rating of 28.8 % in primetime against ABS-CBN's 23.8 % for the first quarter of 2009.

In Metro Manila, GMA Network has regained the lead in primetime TV ratings and has consistently held on to the advantage since late March. ABS-CBN temporarily took the lead in primetime TV ratings in Metro Manila for a number of days during the first months of 2009.

Likewise, GMA Network continued to lead in total day TV ratings in Metro and Mega Manila according to data from AGB Nielsen Philippines.

For the period, March 22 to 28, GMA posted an average total day household TV rating of 15.3 % against ABS-CBN's 13.2 % in Metro Manila. In Mega Manila, GMA got an average total day household TV rating of 16.9 % against ABS-CBN's 12.9 % for the period, March 23 to 29.

GMA's average audience share in Mega Manila was at 40.2 % while ABS-CBN had 30.6 %.

Twenty-one out of the top 30 programs in Mega Manila belonged to GMA with the top four spots occupied by Kapuso shows.

Primetime hit Totoy Bato led all programs in Mega Manila with an average household rating of 35.2 %. Zorro was second with an average of 34.2 %, followed by Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho with 31 % and Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang with 29.4 %.

Primetime newscast 24 Oras, All About Eve, and Bitoy's Funniest Videos were 6th, 7th, and 8th place in Mega Manila, respectively.

Other GMA programs that made it to the top 30 list include Mel and Joey, Fated to Love You, Imbestigador, Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin, Eat Bulaga, Kap's Amazing Stories, Paano Ba Ang Mangarap?, My Dad is Better than Your Dad All Star K!, Ful Haus, Wow Hayop!, Daisy Siete, Bubble Gang, and Kakasa Ka Ba Sa Grade 5?

GMA likewise kept its lead in Total Urban Luzon based on AGB data with an average total day TV rating of 15.5 % against competition's 14.0 % for the period, March 15 to 21.

Eighteen out of the top thirty programs in Total Urban Luzon were from GMA Network.
