It was a night filled with sentimental musings and regret for losing a music icon. 3-7-09 or March7, 2009 marked the continuation of the reunion concert that was cut short in August 2008.
Ely Buendia, Marcus Adoro, Buddy Zabala and Raimund Marasigan
reunited once again to perform for The Final Set, which was held at the SM Mall of Asia concert grounds in Pasay City.
According to MTV Philippines, the crowd that turned up that night reached "a hundred thousand." The first set is memorable because of Marcus Adoro's reggae version of "Huwag Mo Nang Itanong" and the three songs where Raimund serves as the vocalist.
During the second set, the Eraserheads sat down on sofas and Ely quipped, "Welcome to our new home." They then delivered acoustic versions of their songs, with Jazz Nicolas on keyboards for the song "Kailan." Before leaving the stage, Ely shouted, "Thank you and good night!"
The crowd waited patiently for their return and were treated to a medley of songs while clips of the late Francis Magalona were shown overhead. Ely urged the crowd to "dance for Francis" and they most certainly did!
Not to be missed is the finale wherein Ely set the "Sticker Happy" upright piano ablaze onstage. As the band members performed the last lines of "Ang Huling El Bimbo," fireworks lit up the night sky and confetti rained on all those present to witness the historic concert.
Ang if you were among those who immediately headed out the exit, now is your chance to watch the three bonus songs that the phenomenal Pinoy
‘90s rock band performed to finally end the night.
Eraserheads: The Final Set will be aired on GMA-7 at 10:30 pm.
