Proud lola si Delia Razon sa tagumpay ng kanyang apo na si Carla Abellana sa showbiz.
Natatawang kuwento ng dating premiere actress ng LVN Pictures, “People really greet me a lot and I feel flattered, but I’m so happy for her. She deserves it.”
Dagdag pa ng 82-year-old actress, napalaki nang tama si Carla nkaya tiwala siya sa mga desisyon ng apo.
“She was a good child while she was growing up, alam mo naman ako, mahigpit ako. She’s a good child.
“She studied well, she graduated [Summa] Cum Laude,” bida ni Delia sa kanyang apo.
Si Carla ay nagtapos ng kursong Bachelor of Science in Psychology sa De La Salle University.
Nakausap ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) ang veteran actress sa launching ng commemorative stamp para sa National Artist for Film na si Gerry de Leon noong nakaraang linggo.
HAPPY FOR CARLA. Ayon pa kay Delia tungkol sa kanyang apo, hindi raw niya inasahan na magsu-showbiz ito.
“I never realized she would enter the movies.
"Somebody just said, ‘O, yung apo mo [nasa showbiz na].’
"I said, ‘Who?’ ‘Carla!’ [I answered] ‘What?’
“I was surprised, but she’s doing well.
"She’s a very good child, she’s a very good apo... no complaints.
"I’m happy for her.
Ikinuwento rin ni Delia ang “sikreto” na ibinigay niya kay Carla para maging isang magaling na aktres.
“I told her only one thing, secret… ‘Use your eyes.’ Iba ang feelings, iba ang eyes.”
Bilang isang batikan sa showbiz, hindi ba siya natatakot para sa apo sa magulong mundo ng showbiz?
“No. She’s smart, she’s a smart girl. She knows what she’s getting into and she’s a good person.
“All I know is... [I will] pray for her."
Pagbibiro pa niya, “What will I do, choke her? Ha-ha-ha!”
"TAKE CARE OF YOUR NAME." Ano naman ang pinakamagandang payo na ibinigay niya kay Carla pagdating sa showbiz?
“Just to take care of her name. That’s general na—take care of your name, di ba? Kasama na lahat 'yan.
Ramdam din daw niya ang tagumpay ni Carla sa papel nito bilang Lally sa current GMA-7 hit teleserye na My Husband’s Lover.
“I’m so surprised. People come up to me and embrace me and they said, ‘Ay, ang galing ni Lally!’
"Akala ko ako, yun pala yung apo ko ang binabati nila!
"They’re happy for me and I’m happy also.”
Speaking of acting, maraming kasabayan si Delia na very active pa rin sa showbiz, kagaya nina Anita Linda, Gloria Romero, Eddie Garcia, Robert Arevalo, at Barbara Perez.
Wala ba siyang balak na bumalik sa pag-arte?
“I was offered some [acting projects] but I said, 'Wait first.'
“I’m not getting any younger.
“It’s nice, but on TV, it takes shifts… 48 hours before they let you go, baka I will not last long,” biro niya.
