Erik Santos is now fulfilling his dream of collaborating with Jim
Brickman, an American songwriter
and pianist best known for his songs "The Gift" and "Love of My
Life," among others.
In a previous interview, Erik revealed that The Jim Brickman
Songbook will be
recorded in the actual studio of Mr. Brickman. The Filipino pop singer shot his
music video for his first single and album pictorial in the United States.
"Since I started nang manalo ako sa Star In A Million, I've been with Star
Records. Dito sa latest album na gagawin ko with them, 10 tracks plus interlude
ni Jim. So, it's gonna be 20-track album," said Erik of his upcoming album.
This is already Erik's sixth album and it will contain remakes and originals. Yung
'Valentine,' 'Your Love'... favorite ko ang mga yun, e. Kasama rin ang 'By
Heart,' 'The Gift,' 'Love of My Life,' and all the rest, puro originals na ni
Mr. Brickman na ako pa lang ang unang magre-record," he told PEP
(Philippine Entertainment Portal) last March.
This June, Star Record's managing director Annabelle Regalado-Borja
sent the media behind-the-scenes photos of Erik as he conducted his pictorial in
California. The music video shoot and recording sessions with Jim
Brickman were
photographed by Raffy Francisco.
In her email, the Star Records executive revealed that Erik has also
been invited to the Beautiful World
concert in Niagara, Canada on June 17-18, 2009. The said event is expected to be
aired on the Public Broadcasting Service.
