Jeepney TV, the archive cable channel of ABS-CBN, aimed to bring joy and nostalgia when it started airing in October last year the shows that defined local television in the late ‘80s and ‘90s.
Whose childhood memories aren't evoked by Ang TV or Tabing Ilog? And remember Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa as the star-crossed lovers Angelo and Yna in Pangako Sa'Yo?
Of course, the gags in the popular sitcoms Home Along Da Riles, Oki Doki Dok, and Abangan Ang Susunod na Kabanata still draw out the laughter.
A year after "throwing back" those loved shows, Jeepney TV celebrated its first anniversary last Friday night, November 15, at the 19 East Bar and Grill.
The party was turned into a benefit show called "Hapi-Hapi Kaara-One" for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda.
Gary Valenciano and Paolo Valenciano, along with The Voice of the Philippines's semi-finalist, Radha, gave performances at the event.
