Singer Karylle and indie actor Sid Lucero feel honored to be part of ABS-CBN's upcoming TV drama, Dahil May Isang Ikaw.
Aside from being fans of the Jericho Rosales-Kristine Hermosa loveteam, both said it's a privilege for them to be working with reknowned actors Lorna Tolentino and Gabby Concepcion.
Karylle was nervous when she found out that she would be working with her Ninang LT (Lorna's popular name in showbiz). Lorna is a first cousin of Karylle's mother, Zsa Zsa Padilla.
She related, "Ang cute ng lola ko. Sinulatan ako ng card, sabi niya, ‘Apo, humingi ka ng maraming tips sa ninang mo kasi magaling siyang aktres.' Talagang sinulatan niya ako for that."
The support she's getting from her mother network helps her forget about the pressure in doing the TV series. "Natutuwa ako kasi 'yong tiwala nila talagang nandoon," said Karylle.
It also helped that she worked with Kristine in the recently concluded weekend series Maruja.
"Siguro nakatulong din na magkasama kami before sa Maruja. Even 'yong scenes na sister bonding moment, talagang nafi-feel ko na nagre-reflect na kahit papaano. Alam mo 'yon, mayroon na kami noong comfort sa isa't isa," she related.
On his part, Sid gets motivation for his role in Dahil Isang May Isang Ikaw from his co-stars.
"They already made their mark, they're icons to the industry. You know, people look at them for how good they are with their craft. It's just an honor for me to be working with them. Every time I'm with them, I'm always pressured to do better, more conscious than usual," he said.
Being an indie actor, Sid said that playing a role in a TV series gives him an opportunity to improve his craft. "Here, there's a lot, e. I mean, there's a lot of drama. It's part of our culture to be very dramatic especially in TV. So, I'm more exercised here than any indie."
