The 7th Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Festival 2011 formally opened last July 15, Friday, at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (Main Theater) of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).
Fifty-one films are in competition for the following categories: New Breed full-length feature, Short feature, Directors' Showcase, and NETPAC (Network for the Promotions of Asian Cinema) premieres.
