Umani ng suporta at pagmamahal mula sa mga Pilipino, dito sa Pilipinas at maging sa iba’t ibang panig ng mundo, ang ginawang pagyakap at paghalik ni Miss Malaysia Vanessa Tevi kay Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach nang ipatong na sa ulo ng huli ang korona ng Miss Universe 2015 noong Linggo ng gabi, December 20 (Lunes ng umaga sa Pilipinas), sa ginanap na Miss Universe pageant.
Dahil sa naturang gesture ni Vanessa, dinagsa siya ng mensahe ng pagmamahal mula sa mga Pinoy.
Sa kanyang post sa Instagram (@vanessatevi) noong Miyerkules, December 23, ipinaramdam ni Vanessa ang kanyang galak sa mga reaksiyon ng mga Pilipino.
“Haven't had much connection with the world/Internet as I've been on a roadtrip with my family. And omg, I must say jeeeez guys, I'm overwhelmed with the love from all you Philippinas!
“I honestly didn't think that a simple hug & a kiss would earn me this much love. Because to me, it was only natural for me to be happy for the new #MissUniverse who so happens to be my #MissUniverseSister.”
Nagkamali man ng pag-anunsiyo ang host na si Steve Harvey sa pagdeklara niya na si Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez ang Miss Universe, naagapan naman agad niya ang kanyang pagkakamali at idineklarang si Pia ang tunay na nagwagi sa beauty pageant.
BEST REIGNING MISS UNIVERSE. Muli naman nagpaabot ng pagbati si Vanessa kay Pia, na sobra raw niyang na-miss.
