This Wednesday, June 9, exclusively on TV5, long-time best friends Ruffa Gutierrez and Aiko Melendez jolt national TV as viewers witness them explode in a shocking dispute over a guy with whom they both apparently had an affair. But no need to call up Ruffa's mom, for this will of course only happen on TV5's 5-Star Specials Presents...Ruffa in the special drama-comedy episode titled "Ang Bestfriend Kong Kabit."
Inspired by TV5's popular talakserye Face to Face, 5-Star Specials Presents...Ruffa features real-life friends Ruffa Gutierrez and Aiko Melendez as they take on the quirky roles of two best friends Ingrid (Ruffa) and Sandra (Aiko) going face-to-face to argue over a cheating husband who had an affair with the other.
Complete with Face to Face host Amy Perez and the show's Trio Tagapayo, the talakserye will try to settle the two women's dispute on national TV, but proves to be downright vociferous, realistic and in some ways funny.
"Dito mismo sa set ng Face to Face kami nag-taping. Sigawan at sabunutan na parang totoo! Sobrang nag-enjoy talaga kaming lahat, lalo na sina Aiko at Ruffa," shares 5-Star Specials Program Unit Manager Edlyn Tallada.
The drama anthology originally offered five episodes only per featured artist. But due to positive feedback by viewers and the high ratings that the show obtains every week, TV5 responded to the viewers' popular demand and extended the 5-Star Specials series starring Ruffa.
This will serve as the wrap-up episode of Ruffa's performance on 5-Star Specials and incidentally Aiko Melendez's comeback TV project since she left showbiz for her candidacy in the previous elections.
5-Star Specials "Ang Bestfriend Kong Kabit" is directed by Direk Joey Reyes. It also stars Jon Avila as Ruffa's cheating husband Randy, comedienne Kitkat as Melody, and Chris Christianson as Moises.
