The two-part reunion episode of Sharon Cuneta and ex-husband Gabby Concepcion finally concluded last Sunday, June 20. They were joined by their only daughter KC Concepcion and family friend Ms. Zsa Zsa Padilla. The said TV special aired on the Megastar's Sunday variety show Sharon.
Last week they talked about KC's reunion in the United States with her beloved Papa Gabby as well their family secrets. (CLICK HERE to read what happened during the first part of the episode)
But the best part was when viewers saw that the two exes were okay with each other and even joked with each other during the June 13 episode.
NEW LOVE TEAM. Last Sunday, June 20, the show opened with a song number from Miss Sharon Cuneta and best friend Zsa Zsa Padilla. The two of them performed "I Am Woman" from the movie Sex and the City 2.
Sharon and the Divine Diva then thought about giving a new name to the love team in I'll Be There: KC Concepcion and Jericho Rosales.
"Usong uso pa din nga ang pinagsasama ang pangalan ng mga mag love team," began Sharon. " Kimerald ang tawag kila Kim Chiu at Gerald Anderson, habang Melason naman nag tawag kila Melai Cantiveros at Jason Francisco di ba? Ito naman kayang dalawang ito, ano naman ang maaring itawag natin, sige nga try mo."
Zsa Zsa suggested: "Kehko?" The Mega Star commented, "Parang gecko." "Jeksi? Ang pangit. Wala akong maisip. May suggestion kayo? Mag-isip tayo. Pero ano naman po ang itawag sa kanila ang alam ko lang po ay bagay na bagay sila, please welcome KC Conception and Jericho Rosales."
KC then performed a song number with her leading man, Jericho Rosales, prompting audience members to shriek in delight.
Sharon asked Jericho "How is the experience working with KC in this movie, not only KC but Gabby in this movie?"
"It's been fun talaga. I enjoyed every single day shooting with them and syempre mix of awe and I'm learning so much from them." the young actor explained.
Zsa Zsa asked "Kanino ka na awe-awe?"
Jericho explaiend, "Sa kanilang dalawa, coz I am happy for them, kase they get the chance to spend time on the set."
Sharon added: "Saka mahusay na artista ang papa nya."
Echo continued: "Yeah, yun lang kasi we are working on a tight sched, it's sobrang fun, it's the best thought lang na napasama ako doon na yun yung nakikita ko and na e-exprience ko, I just loved it."
Zsa Zsa then interviewed Gabby about his role in the movie, "So Gabby yung character mo dito sa pelikula, how close is it to you in real life, kasi you portray di ba the dad of KC's character."
Gabby answered, "Yung character ko dito, ewan ko parang totoo eh, kasi hindi kami nag kita ng matagal, but of course yung role ko di totoo yun, pero madalas ngayon di kami masyado, wala kaming confrontation, although merong confrontation scene doon na never naman nanyari."
In KC's morning show Simply KC, Gabby guested and helped out a father who has not seen his daughter for a long time. "Maganda yung feeling na nag kakaroon ng ganitong bonding di ba."
KC added: "Ang laking bagay it is to be here, we know it's not everyday talaga na nanyayari, and mayroon talagang purpose, bakit kami pinagtagpo ulit, kung bakit kailangan nanadito kami sa show ni mama and makagawa ng movie together--I waited all my life for this moment."
Star Cinema's I'll Be There is currently being screened in cinemas nationwide.
MEGA FAMILY MOVIE? Zsa Zsa continued the interview by asking the question that everyone wants to ask the Megastar: "Syempre and lahat ito ang gusto malaman, kelan ba daw ang pelikula ninyong tatlo?"
Sharon answered, "Ang alam ko kami ni KC gagawa, siguro next year, hindi aabot this year di ba. Tapos hindi ko alam kung ano ang next."
Zsa Zsa asked what type of movie Sharon would want to do and what theme would it have.
"Batman and Robin meets Batgirl!" said as the Mega Star laughingly.
Zsa Zsa asked the opinion of the audience by asking: "Gusto n'yo ba sila makita all together in a show?" The audience memebrs screamed as they really want to see the Mega family in a movie all together. And the audience screamed some more when Sharon gave the "yes," indicating that it is okay with her to star in a movie with Gabby and KC.
KC cannot help but reminisce about the last movie that Gabby and Sharon did. "Yung last movie ninyo ma, kasi naalala ko yung Tayong Dalawa, nag punta pa ako sa set nun, 1992. Tayong Dalawa tapos love scene pinauwi ako ni mama."
Zsa Zsa quipped: Ayaw nyo pakita yung love scene nyo, e, paano ka nagawa?"
KC even recalled cooking for Gabby on the set of the movie. She admitted that she and her Papa Gabby have the same taste in food.
Zsa Zsa added one of the best questions of the night, "What is the one question that you always wanted to ask your papa, KC that you never had the chance to?" It took a while before KC could come up with a question because she was so overwhelmed with happiness.
Sharon fondly pointed out that many similarities that Gabby has with KC. "Samantalang sa akin lumaki to, isn't it surprising how much of you she has in her."
KC did follow a question up, "In the 13 years na di tayo nagkita, are you surprised that I grew up with mom, lumaki ako kila mama, pero parang malapit pa din tayo. Hindi ka ba nagtataka bakit di ako galit sa 'yo? " Gabby pointed out that blood is indeed thicker than water.
Gabby thanked Sharon so much for taking good care of KC. The show ended with clips of blooper from the taping showing Gabby teasing Sharon with sweetness that made the audience scream with "kilig" as the credits rolled.
