"Expect the Unexpected" and "Don't Talk to Strangers "are two age old clichés that resonantly reverberated and "rocked" Big Brother's household this week. Valuable lessons were learned and a big sacrifice had to be made. The housemates blatantly committed two severe house violations: using a cellphone and physically moving out Kuya's furniture. As a result, this led to a housemate's forced eviction.
It all started with the housemates finding cellphone units with their laundered comforters. One of the units started ringing incessantly. Although the housemates knew for a fact that it was forbidden to answer the phone, curiosity got the better of them. Fretzie Bercede answered the phone. A total stranger, who identified herself as Madame X and Kuya's "agent," gave specific instructions to Fretzie. Madame requested her to get the P200,000 cash fund raised for the "Big Goal Concert" and be brought to her. She also told Fretzie to ask the assistance of Jenny Kim.
Thinking that it was a task from Kuya, Fretzie dutifully carried out the instructions. Together with Jenny's help, they were able to get the cash without the housemates' knowledge. They quietly slipped into the Apartment home and gave the cash to Madame X.
The mysterious lady was delighted that the task was done without a hitch. She then told the ladies that they will be "rewarded." Like meek lambs, Madame X had them blindfolded, tied up and held as "hostages". They were "kidnapped". She reprimanded the ladies for being "fools" - for "trusting" and "believing" every word she said. She sent messages and video clips to the housemates and asked them that she will release one "hostage" only on the condition that all of Kuya's pieces of furniture have to be brought out. Not even consulting Kuya, the housemates followed the instruction. And in return, Fretzie was "released."
Madame X gave them another task for them to encode which will "free" Jenny. It took the housemates quite sometime to do this task. Kuya "interceded" by giving the correct codes to Jenny so she can free herself. Afterwards, Kuya called all the housemates and chastised them for violating his house rules. As a punishment, Kuya asked each group--the Pinoy housemates and the teenternationals to "unanimously vote" within a span of thirty minutes, for a housemate to be forcibly evicted. Jenny was tasked to be the "timekeeper."
If at the end of the thirty minute time limit no vote was made, Jenny will then be the housemate to be evicted. The Teenternationals agreed that they will not vote "out" any Pinoy housemate. The Pinoy housemates, on the other hand, wanted to vote for a teenternational to be evicted. Ivan and Devon voted for Bret but Fretzie didn't agree with the vote. As a result of their "indecision," they were not able to vote at all. In the end, Jenny became the housemate given a forced eviction this week.
A light and fun challenge was also held this week. Kuya announced the search for the next MYX VJ. At stake was a cool cash prize of P20,000 and a three-month contract as VJ at MYX. Each housemate was asked to talk about their life at PBB and a topic they are familiar with. MYX VJs Bianca and Chino were the special judges. Bret Jackson, Ivan Dorchner, Fretzie Bercede and Ryan Bang made it to the first round.
For the final round, each of them was asked to interview real MYX VJ finalists. Bret interviewed Robin, who is a son of singer Martin Nievera, Ivan was paired with Devar, Fretzie with Ton and Ryan with Kirsten. Ryan who is a natural comic, brought the house down with his riotous talk with Kirsten whom he kept calling Christian. At the end of the challenge, the MYX VJs winning choice was Bret.
Jenny Kim, the sassy smart girl from Korea, finally stepped out of Kuya's house that had been her "home" for the past two months. Prior to her departure, her housemates made her feel extra special; Bret prepared a special breakfast for her, the teenternationals had a blast swimming together and Ivan prepared a special French toast for Jenny. In a separate occasion, Kuya arranged for Jenny and her Dad, whom she hasn't seen for a number of years, to touch base with each other once again. Jenny's parents divorced when she was four years old.
Come eviction time, Jenny's Tita Carol welcomed her back warmly. Host Toni Gonzaga asked Jenny to enumerate the things she has brought with her from Kuya's house. She sincerely replied, "I have learned a lot. I learned to love others...pusong Pinoy na po ako..."
As of June 19 vote partial vote standing for the final night, leading the pack is Ann with 18.90%, third place is Bret at 18.50% and fifth placer is Pinoy housemate Ivan with a score of 12.46%.
