Jessy Mendiola is the new Sexiest Woman in the country, based on FHM Philippines's online poll.
In a press statement released today, June 30, the men's magazine announced that the Kapamilya actress topped their poll of the finest females in the Philippines this year.
From 23rd spot last year, the former Maria Mercedes star took the lead from celebs who previously topped the annual poll; such as Angel Locsin, Jennylyn Mercado, Marian Rivera, and Sam Pinto.
While this may be a surprise for some, FHM.com.ph's managing editor B.A. Borleo said in the statement, “It's not a question of 'why her,' but 'why only now.'
“This result just proves something we've known for quite some time now here in FHM: We all can’t get enough of Jessy Mendiola.
“We've all spent time checking up on her—the ads, the TV shows, the movies, her posts on social media.
“This woman is everywhere, her followers number in millions, and now they’ve managed to put their idol on top of the FHM 100 Sexiest List.”
FHM Philippines editor-in-chief Allan Hernandez added, “She bided her time, honed her craft, pushed herself to be better, and now she is.”
