The Hero Angeles-Sandara Park loveteam was almost seen again on TV for the anniversary of Your Song, the Sunday afternoon show of ABS-CBN. However, plans between Hero's manager and brother, Henry Angeles, and ABS-CBN executives did not materialize.
In an interview with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) last May 10, Henry confided that a production staff member of the musical anthology program had already contacted them late last year regarding the project.
"It was a booking late last year pa. Nag-‘yes' na ko even if si Sandara [Park] 'yong partner. Kung ano 'yong nangyari sa nakaraan, kalimutan na natin, pagbigyan na natin," narrates the older brother of Hero.
He continues, "Last November, may nag-inquire na staff ni Tita Angge kung available daw ba si Hero. Nag-usap kami personally ni Tita Angge at sabi niya, kung pwede raw ba magshoot by December.
"Ang sabi niya, magsu-shoot na para makapagpondo na sila para sa anniversary ng show. Kaya lang, busy kami noon ni Hero for his indie film, Stockroom, and pupunta si Hero sa Hong Kong kaya sabi ko, sa January na lang."
Henry said that Tita Angge—whose real name is Cornelia Lee, talent coordinator for the Kapamilya Network—agreed to this condition and said that she would contact him again to finalize their plans. She called again last February but there were no concrete plans that followed.
For his part, Henry says that he is not angry with Tita Angge. If in case he gets to talk with her someday, he will ask her: "Bakit naglalabasan ang ganito? Parang kami pa ang binaliktad. [Although] hindi ko rin naman sinasabi na siya yung to blame for this."
When asked how much was the talent fee that Henry proposed for doing the project for Your Song, the actor's brother refused to give an exact figure but did mention that he was willing to negotiate with the Kapamilya Network.
