Atom Araullo filed resignation from reportorial duties.

Atom Araullo had been one of the prominent figures strongly opposing the burial of former president Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.

This had led to people accusing the ABS-CBN News field reporter to being 'biased' over the subject matter.

Given that part of the integrity of a journalist had been to remain on a neutral stand regardless of the issue at hand, it had been confirmed that Atom did choose to resign from his post in TV Patrol, Bandila, and ANC as a reporter to explore other opportunities instead.

Head of ABS CBN News and Current Affairs Ging Reyes released this statement:

“Atom Araullo had filed his resignation from his reportorial duties but will remain an on camera talent of ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs as an anchor in Umagang Kay Ganda and Red Alert.

“He said he arrived at this decision to be able to pursue other endeavors that would also help him grow as a journalist and as a host.
