GMA-7 will bring more laughter during Saturday evenings when it introduces a quirky mother known as JejeMom. Topbilled by Eugene Domingo, this new weekly drama-comedy series offers a peek into the modern Pinoy household in the time of texting, Facebook, Twitter and the jejemon phenomenon.

Last July, the word "jejemon" emerged as the word of the year after being selected among ten finalists presented during the Sawikaan 2010 organized by the Filipinas Institute of Translation (FIT). It has come to refer to individuals who do not follow correct punctuation, syntax and grammar when it comes to typing and sending text messages.

Eugene Domingo is Gigi, a single mom who has a weird fashion sense and loves to text. Her life is dysfunctional but happy until she receives a text message sent by mistake that changes the course of her life. She stumbles upon the whereabouts of Lady Gangsta, a notorious criminal leader.

The "JejeMom" instantly reports the incident to Dindo (Wendell Ramos), the hunky policeman whom she adores. The police imprison the kidnappers but fail to get Lady Gangsta who is now seeking revenge against Gigi.

Gigi then becomes the star witness of the case and her family is entered into a Witness Protection Program. She must do everything in her power to protect her son, G-Boy (Robert "Buboy" Villar) and her younger sister Lovely (Jennica Garcia), who has a problematic love life. There's also their househelp Yasmin (Chariz Solomon) who loves to watch TV all the time.

As a star witness, Gigi is transferred to a upper-class village where she manages to win the friendship of her neighbors. Gelli De Belen plays Bunny, the neighborhood president who tries to ruin Gigi's reputation because the JejeMom is becoming more popular thah her. She is the wife of Winston (Ricky Davao), a highly influential government official.

Uge (Eugene's nickname) describes her role by saying: "I play Gigi, a single mom na barangay secretary. Naging star witness ako sa criminal activities ng crime boss na si Lady Gangsta at dahil sa'kin, his cohorts were jailed kaya hinanting niya ako. The government puts me under the witness protection program at pinagpanggap akong rich living in a posh suburban village."

"Ako man ang title role dito bilang Jejemom, hindi ako ito mag-isa," says Uge graciously. "Ito po ay isang buong pamilya, isang buong community na aabangan nila linggo-linggo. This is not all about Gigi, but it's about the family and the community of Gigi. Kaya napakaganda na masubaybayan nila, ng publiko, bilang comedy series."

Dominic Zapata directs this show that aims to shed light on motherhood, parenting, neighborhood spirit and the jejemon culture. The show was originally written by Denoy Navarro-Punio.
