Now that Gretchen Barretto's character Victoria Valera has taken over Vera Cruz's (played by Angel Aquino) Vera Couture on Magkaribal, she promises to deliver more versatile acting for the show.
"More of Victoria. It's not more of mataray but, I guess, you'll see a variety sa acting," said Gretchen during a press visit on the set of Magkaribal last week.
She also related that there will be slight changes in the lives of the different characters as the story of Magkaribal progresses.
"You'll see a different Victoria, a better Victoria, Vera, and Gelai (Bea Alonzo). I mean, all of us, mag-iiba ng story—better story, better dialogue, better outfits dahil si Gelai mag-i-improve na siya," said Gretchen.
From a high-end fashion company, Victoria announced to her staff that Vera Couture's name will be changed to The V Label. This marked the expansion of the designs of the company to include ready-to-wear (RTW) outfits.
Viewers should also watch for the DNA result that Vera initiated to find out if Gelai is one of the two daughters of her husband Manuel (Mark Gil) to his former wife. In previous episodes, Victoria turned out to be the eldest daughter of Manuel, named Anna.
Also, one of the characters will be gone soon on Magkaribal, according to a source.
Gretchen said the positive response of the viewers made her forget about the stress from work and inspired her to do better on Magkaribal.
"Nahihirapan ako," she admitted. "Pero kapag nakuha namin ang reviews ng mga tao, nakikita namin na maraming natutuwa sa Magkaribal, nasasabi ko rin na it's all worth it. Lahat ng pagod, lahat ng hirap, lahat ng puyat, it's worth it. So, okay na rin, I can't complain."
She also mentioned how happy she was for the success of Magkaribal. In fact, ABS-CBN organized a thanksgiving celebration last Saturday, August 14, for the continued success of the primetime show.
She told the media during the press visit, "I'm just enjoying everything. Sabi ko nga, teamwork talaga ito. The success of one is the success of the whole team. So, I'm just enjoying the whole team."
