Davey gets the boot from 'Pinoy Dream Academy'

Crooner Davey Langit is first on Headmaster's List to leave Academy.

Crooner Davey Langit failed to survive the new format imposed in expelling scholars in ABS-CBN’s reality-based talent search Pinoy Dream Academy as the Baguio native was the first on the Headmaster’s List of ten finalists to get the boot after garnering the lowest share of the audience votes.

The new format, effective this week, only called for votes from the audience—through text messaging and the Internet—in determining the expulsion of scholars. Previously, nominees for expulsion had votes from PDA teachers and fellow scholars to rely on to avoid leaving the academy, apart from the audience votes. Under the new rules, the scholar who garnered the lowest audience votes gets the boot.

Davey had initially impressed the judges with his original song “Spending My Life With You.” However, this did not register well with television viewers as he ended up in the cellar in the Expulsion Night on November 25. Those who were saved from expulsion this week were nominees Yeng Constantino, Rosita Bareng, and Ronnie Liang.
