Jake Zyrus, formerly known as Charice, stood as a mentor to fellow performer KZ Tandingan during The X Factor Philippines back in 2012. The two performed earlier at ASAP's special tribute for Martin Nievera.

Jake Zyrus sang for the first time on the ASAP stage this Sunday, July 9, weeks after the international Pinoy sensation reintroduced himself with his new name on social media.

Jake, formerly known as Charice, appeared onstage in a barong Tagalog, and performed a tribute medley for Martin Nievera together with a star-studded lineup of performers including Zsa Zsa Padilla, Ogie Alcasid, Sarah Geronimo, Erik Santos, KZ Tandingan, Morrisette Amon, Zia Quizon, Iñigo Pascual, and OPM legend Ivy Violan.

His ASAP performance served as a mini X Factor Philippines reunion for Jake and KZ when they performed "Each Day With You" together.

KZ was mentored by Jake during their days in the reality talent show competition.

Martin, who sat onstage as they performed, later acknowledged them as "KZ and JZ on ASAP."
