After being paired in Kambal sa Uma and other TV projects, the young stars are together again on ABS-CBN's afternoon drama series Precious Hearts Romances Presents Alyna.
Jason observed they have become different persons since their first show together, because they have matured as actors.
"Mas nahihiya akong humarap ngayon kay Shaina kasi sobrang hirap ng characters. Kaya umaga pa lang ng taping, sobrang nagpre-prepare na 'ko," said the young actor.
The 2008 Gawad Urian Best Actor also praised his leading lady, who is currently taking on the most daring role in her 15-year career.
"Ngayon kasi 'pag umiiyak siya, mas may laman, may pinanggagalingan. Mas mature na siya ngayon as an actress," he adds.
Shaina, dubbed by her home network as the Princess of Hearts, said that her family is still adjusting to her new and sexier image.
"They know naman from the beginning kung saan pupunta ang character ko kaya handa na sila. Nag-comment lang ang brother-in-law ko. He's not used to seeing me wearing things like that daw [white lingerie]," admitted the young star.
Her boyfriend John Lloyd Cruz, meanwhile, is very cool about the project, even her love scenes, Shaina revealed. "He's very happy naman with this project. He already worked with Direk FM Reyes so he knows the treatment," she added.
This week, because Alyna gave birth prematurely, she is forced to stay and work in Rancho Del Carmen until her baby is in the best of health.
