Cavite Vice Governor Jolo Revilla is grateful for having survived a near-fatal accident three years ago.

Cavite Vice Governor Jolo Revilla recalled how he made it past a shooting accident that could have killed him three years ago yesterday, February 28.

Jolo's Instagram caption read: “Exactly 3 years ago today was a turning point in my life. God gave me a second chance to live.

“God made me realize how important life is. God showed me who loved me.

“Today, I am stronger than ever and my faith in Him overflowed.

“I realized, with God, nothing is impossible.”

BACKSTORY. On February 28, 2015, Jolo was rushed to the hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound on the upper right portion of his chest.

An initial report cited a source claiming that Jolo allegedly attempted suicide.

But an official statement from the Revilla family quashed speculations that the gunshot wound was self-inflicted.

The statement, as read by the family spokesman Atty. Raymund Fortun, said: “At 9 am today at Ayala Alabang, Vice Governor Jolo Revilla suffered a single gunshot wound on his right chest after he accidentally fired a .40 Glock handgun while cleaning the same.”
