Vic Sotto said taping Laugh or Lose for TV5 is not that hard. "Tawa lang kami ng tawa," he said.

Before the end of his show Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Vic Sotto said the Kapatid network already offered him a replacement.

"Before Millionaire, nag-usap na kami nina Perci [Intalan, TV5 Head for Creative and Entertainment]. They presented to me the format," Vic said at the presscon for Laugh or Lose on October 11 at Broadway Centrum, Quezon City.

Laugh or Lose is the Pinoy adaptation of the game show Laugh and You Lose, which is produced by Talpa TV in the Netherlands.

"Ginawa naming Laugh or Lose, for short LoL," Vic said.

In Laugh or Lose, two comedians lead two clashing teams to make their opponents laugh. Each team has poker-faced members who will have to defy their rivals' funny tricks. The moment a member of the team laughs or smiles at the rival's comic act, the rival earns the smiley point. Depending on their members' laughter tolerance, both teams will slowly lose members as the game progresses.

Comedians Jose Manalo and Wally Bayalo are the show's resident tricksters who will help Vic Sotto dish out the zaniness in the already hilarious game show.

"Puro katuwaan lang. Bawal tumawa. Pagka tumawa ka, that's a point against you. At the end of the show, bilangan ng pinakamaraming points or smileys. Sila yung ide-declare na winner," Vic said.

The show's unique format is paying off—the show's pilot episode last October 9 topped the ratings in its timeslot, according to data from AGB Nielsen.

Vic said the show succeeded because Filipinos love to laugh.

"Basically ang Pilipino, madaling patawanin," he explained. "Madaling tumawa. Kahit sarili natin, pinagtatawanan natin, which is a good quality of Filipinos. We can laugh at our own mistakes, which, para sa akin, mabuti kasi nakakatanggal ng yabang yun e. Nakakadagdag ng pagka-humble yun na kaya mong pagtawanan ang sarili mo."

"At ang mga Pilipino, may talento sila pagdating sa tawanan, di ba? Minsan, the most serious situations that we have, nalalagyan pa rin natin ng comedy kahit papaano. Ang problema, kapag pinipigil sa 'yo ang pagtawa. Yun ang nakakatawa dun."
