Paulo Avelino has a reminder to netizens posting inappropriate content on social media: "We have to be a bit sensitive about what we post. Not just because we may offend someone with our comments. But we should always consider the younger kids or the parties that may get hurt."

Paulo Avelino was surprised when word got out that he fielded lewd comments from a number of girls who were watching him play a computer game via the live-streaming app called Twitch.

This was in relation to FHM's report last May, indicating how some girl streamers went overboard with their admiration of Paulo due to their sexually inappropriate comments.

Some wrote funny messages like "daddy pau ang sarap mo," but others were downright vulgar with remarks that are totally not safe for work.

Below were some of the netizens' reaction to the incident:

Speaking to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Paulo explained that he had no idea that some girl streamers had been sending him lewd messages until the incident came out in the news.

“Actually, hindi ko masyado napapansin yung messages kasi ang dami, 'tapos naglalaro rin ako at the same time.

"So minsan, it gets flooded.

“Pero I understand they were joking around or just having fun or it was really meant as a joke.

“Pero sometimes you just have to be a little sensitive, kumbaga may mga ibang tao rin na nandun.

"May mga batang nanonood, yun lang."

Paulo also reminded netizens to be responsible with the content that they put out on social media.

“Kahit anong form of social media, we have to be a bit sensitive about what we post.

“Not just because we may offend someone with our comments. But we should always consider the younger kids or the parties that may get hurt.”

PEP.ph had an exclusive interview with Paulo at the pictorial for Headliner held at Summit Media studio in Mandaluyong City.

Asked if he encountered an overzealous female admirer in person, Paulo replied, “Parang wala pa naman.”

He agreed that his female fans are pretty much well behaved when he gets approached for photo-ops in public.

How is his relationship with Fil-Australian model Jodie Tarasek so far? How does he stay undaunted amid showbiz controversies? Is he nervous about headlining Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral?
