Rayver Cruz recalled an incident when he defended rumored girlfriend Janine Gutierrez against a basher calling her names on Instagram.
This was when Janine was chosen as Alden Richards's love interest in the GMA-7 telefantasya Victor Magtanggol, which did not sit well with some netizens.
Rayver said, smiling, “Simple lang naman yung sagot ko. Cute lang naman yung sinagot ko.”
He admitted being affected by netizens going overboard in their criticisms of Janine.
“Well, of course, minsan iisipin natin kanya-kanyang opinion naman.
“Pero ang iniiwasan natin minsan, masakit din pag below the belt, pag too much na.
"Kapag pamilya na natin ang dinadamay. Siyempre tao lang tayo.”
But in the overall, Rayver said he makes it a point not to get carried away by negative comments.
“At the end of the day, bashers man o hindi, pina-follow pa rin nila ang mga tao.
"Nagko-comment pa rin sila, so thank you pa rin."
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) interviewed Rayver after the media launch of GMA-7’s upcoming musical-variety show Studio 7.
The event was held at the GMA Network Center in Quezon City, last night, October 2.
SHOW OF AFFECTION
Rayver was hesitant to talk about Janine, although he admitted he was happy when she recently posted a throwback picture of their Star Magic Ball date last year.
Even their friends and family reacted to Janine’s rare show of affection to Rayver on her Instagram feed.
He said, “Siyempre kahit ako, kinilig ako.
“Parehas naman kami, hindi kami ma-post ng picture.
“Once in a while, kapag may ganung post, kahit ako natutuwa ako.
“Nakakatuwa naman yung comments ng tao.”
Rayver has been courting Janine since last year, and was in fact on his way to see her after the presscon last night.
It happened to be Janine's 29th birthday.
"So, baka mag-dinner kami,” he beamed.
Asked about his birthday gift to Janine, Rayver replied, “Bibili pa lang. Siyempre nag-iisip din ako, kailangan maganda.”
Rayver, however, still would not confirm the real score between them.
Without going into details, Rayver said that he and Janine go out on dates in spite of their busy schedule.
“Meron naman. Pag may free time lumalabas kami,” he concluded.
